The best wedding photographers in the South West
It’s one of the most momentous occasions in the wonderful story that is your life: your wedding. What do you imagine your special day to be? Are you on a picturesque beach with a handful of loved ones, with soft white sand beneath your feet and a slight breeze in your hair? Or do you want a big, rambunctious party indoors with everyone burning up the dance floor?
Whatever it is you’re after, take the time to choose a photographer who understands your vision. Images should match who you are as a couple and capture the spirit of the day. A good photographer is absolutely worth the expense; after all, you’ll fondly look back on these photos for years to come.
We asked photographer Kelly Harwood what it was about ‘down south’ that makes it so perfect for these celebrations.
“One of the reasons I love shooting weddings in the South West is for the endless choice of picturesque backdrops. I’m inspired by the change of seasons and how the colours change in the landscape, like the golden grass paddocks in summer which transform into lush green over winter,” she said.
“One of my favourite places to shoot is around Wyadup, which has a bit of everything you could want in one place: a coastal scene with shades of sage, textural foliage, striking orange rocks, and if you swivel around there are rolling hills with gorgeous horses. I was recently there for a late afternoon engagement session and noticed the tide was out. We wandered down to what is normally the ocean floor and discovered a large turquoise pool in the sand. It made for epic reflection shots!”
We’ve done the hard work for you and scouted out the best wedding photographers in the Margaret River region who will work their magic for your big day.
